Ready to enrol your child?

To assist with making the transition to school for all learners go smoothly, we are introducing a cohort entry system at school as of 2023 for all learners turning five and starting school for the first time.

Welcome to Tamaoho School

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to Tamaoho School. I am highly honoured and excited to be the Foundation Principal at Tamaoho School and believe this is a 'once in a lifetime opportunity’ and one that the Establishment Board and Foundation Leadership team take very seriously.

Our collective objective is to prepare learners for life after school and for them to be successful in this ever changing world. At Tamaoho every child will be a leader and a learner. Learning will be FUN, authentic and purposeful to allow learners to develop firm reading, writing and mathematics skills, as well as skills they will need to enter into the future workforce. Learning will be personalised and learners will be empowered.

We believe Tamaoho will provide a sensational learning environment where learners will achieve and succeed in every area of their learning.

Our School

Our school is a Year 1-6 contributing school. Stage one will accommodate 350 learners, while stage two, 550. Stage two will be implemented when required and may not be built for a number of years. This will keep the teacher to learner ratios low.

Tamaoho School also includes satellite teaching spaces for Parkside Special School and a Sensory Resource Centre for Blind and Low Vision Education Network New Zealand (BLENNZ) with a teaching space.

We are very lucky to have one of the country’s newest schools, and it took a team of people a lot of effort to get us here. In fact, it took about two years and approximately 85,247 work hours to build our school! We had a total of 597 workers/visitors on-site over that time, and around 980 cubic metres of concrete was used during construction (that’s roughly enough concrete to fill two squash courts!). Watch our timelapse video.

Ngā mihi ki a koutou @EducationGovtNZ, contractors, our BOT and the school community. We love our new school!

Free Healthy Lunch in School Programme

Tamaoho School is lucky enough to be given the opportunity to receive healthy lunches for all learners to ensure an equitable system of healthy eating. Each day each learner receives a healthy school lunch (at no cost) which consists of a main and two sides. Our provider is Pita Pit.
