Bell Times & Term Dates
Bell Times
End-of-Day Routine at Tamaoho School
Staggered Dismissal Times
To reduce congestion and ensure a calm end to the school day, learners are dismissed in phases:
Kōwhai Learners: 2:45pm
Kohekohe and Taraire Learners: 2:55pm
Nikau and Puriri Learners: 3:00pm
Siblings Leaving Together
For families with children in multiple year levels, older siblings are released at the same time as their younger siblings. This helps simplify pick-up arrangements for whaanau.
Walking School Bus
We offer a Walking School Bus for learners in Years 2–6 who walk home. This group departs the school at 2:50pm and is supervised by a member of our team to ensure the journey home is safe and organised.
Key Safety Measures
Staff are stationed at key areas to supervise dismissal.
All learners must have shoes on when leaving the school
Clear routines help learners understand when and where they need to go.
Whaanau are encouraged to communicate any changes to pick-up arrangements as early as possible to ensure everyone is informed.
Drink to think
It is important that all learners stay hydrated during the day to ensure they are ready to learn. The best hydration for our learners is water. All learners will require to bring a water bottle to school each, with water only.
